Introducing...

...Makafui Mawu-ye-na
6 lbs. 6 ounces, 19 inches
Born on July 23rd at 2:14 pm (after almost 13 hours of labor)

Her first name was chosen by Charle's mother. It means "I will praise the Lord" in Charle's native language, Ewe. Her middle name was chosen by Charle's and me. It is also in Ewe and means "given by God." We are praying that her first name would be a prophecy for her life and her middle name is what she is to her parents (and hopefully, to this broken world too).

For those of you that were never aware that I was pregnant, feel free to take a look back at my blog entry on 3/11/10 and read the testimony we have of our little one. She is, without a doubt, beauty from ashes and we are so thankful for the redemption, mercy, and unmerited favor of our God. We love her dearly and are excited to see who the Lord is going to make her into. We feel humbled beyond measure to be entrusted to be parents and ask you to pray along with us that the Lord would give us guidance and wisdom to raise her in a way that would show her that Christ is the greatest and only worthy treasure.
