Dublin Arrival

Hello beloved friends and family!

Well, Anna, Miriam, and I arrived in Dublin at 6:52 AM this morning Ireland time. Not one of us got more than a wink of sleep last night so we have been making the rounds to all the Dublinesque sites at a state that could be defined as somewhere near comatose. Currently, they have succumbed to sleep and I am attempting to press through so that the jet lag can be resolved by tomorrow. We'll see how that goes. :-)

God has been so faithful! He really has. Not that I'm surprised about that. He always is. But His goodness does not cease to amaze. He kept us safe on two flights, gave Miriam and I a safe drive to Minneapolis, graced us at the Dublin airport with our luggage and a speedy bus journey into the city. The list could go on and on really.

I have had a wonderful object lesson over the past hours. About an hour into the flight from Newark to Dublin, I started to feel very nauseous. Too much chinese maybe? Not sure. Either way, as I prayed through the hours on the plane and slowly improved, I was reminded that I truly am completely and totally dependent and desperate upon God. He is the giver and sustainer of my health, my strength, everything that I have and am and He can take any/all of those things away just as easily. Sometimes (often) I need the reminder that I am not a self-sufficient person who prays and seeks God. I'm a broken, fragile human who seeks God because without Him I'm a freaking mess!!! It's funny how you fix your eyes on God when something as simple and yet as integral as your health goes askew. I praise God for the reminder that I need Him every minute. I'm praying that I don't forget it for one minute of my time over here.

Well, I'm off to see if I can cause enough noise to rouse Miriam and Anna from their slumber. Starting the shower in the bathroom right next to our room should do it. Oh, for the love of hostels. Blessings to you all!
